ISG to re-operate Cleveland works

According to the recent news in the market, North American integrated steel mill International Steel Group (ISG) is planning to re-operate the continuous caster and basic oxygen furnace (BOF) of Cleveland Works, which have not been operating since June 2001. This project will also bring hiring of 140 workers to the agenda, who were previously dismissed. The furnace is expected to restart operation in May, with a monthly capacity of 60'000 tons of slabs. For this project, ISG will invest $10 million. An official from ISG stated that due to rising need of raw material depending on strong demand, they want to re-operate the works.
