ISD’s steelmaking subsidiaries issue January-February production results

Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk) and Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), the steelmaking subsidiaries of the Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), have issued their preliminary production results for the January-February period of the current year.
 
Accordingly, in the first two months of the year, Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk) saw its crude steel production increase by 23 percent to 591,000 mt, its finished steel product output went up by 36 percent to 573,000 mt, its pig iron production grew by 33 percent to 554,000 mt, while its agglomerate production increased by 15 percent to 822,000 mt, all compared to the same period last year.
 
Meanwhile, DMKD in January-February this year kept  its crude steel production at last year's levels, i.e., at 497,000 mt, but saw a two percent increase in its finished steel product output to 463,000 mt and a one percent growth in its pig iron production to 495,000 mt, while its agglomerate output went down by one percent to 740,000 mt, all compared to January-February 2010.
