In November this year, iron ore export shipments from Mormugao Port in the western Indian state of Goa - India's largest iron ore exporting port - were down six percent year on year to 3.19 million mt, compared to a 25 percent year-on-year decrease in the month of October, according to the India-based business news internet site Livemint.
In the first eight months of the current Indian fiscal year (April-November), iron ore exports from Mormugao Port totaled 17.90 million mt, down 13.9 percent as compared to the same period last year. In the same period, India's largest iron ore exporter SESA Goa shipped 404,115 mt of iron ore from the port in question to China.
Meanwhile, Mormugao Port is the world's third-largest iron ore exporting port.
