Iran’s steel exports down 35 percent in March-November

Iranian steelmakers produced 14,149,000 mt of crude steel during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21-November 21), up 15 percent compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to Iran’s Steel Producers Association.

On the other hand, Iran’s finished steel product (coil, rebar, hot rolled sheet, etc,) output grew by nine percent to 12,993,000 mt in the given period, from 11,915,000 mt in the same period of last year.

During the March-November period this year, Iran’s steel exports amounted to 940,000 mt, falling by 35 percent, while the country’s steel imports decreased by 26 percent to more than 2 million  mt, both year on year.
