Iran’s Mobarakeh Steel to build 1000 MW power plant

Iranian steel producer Mobarakeh Steel is to build a 1000 MW power plant according to a contract worth $680 million which Mobarakeh signed with MAPNA (the Iran Power Projects Management Co.) last Sunday.

The new power plant will be constructed within 37 months and will be able to generate sufficient electricity for the annual production of 10 million mt of steel. Last year Iran suffered from shortages of electricity.
