Iranian steelmaker Khouzestan Steel produced 3.024 million mt of semi-finished steel (billet, bloom and slab) in the last Iranian year (ended March 20), representing an increase of 18 percent compared to the previous Iranian year - according to figures announced by Khouzestan Steel managing director Abdolmajid Sharif.

Khouzestan Steel has raised its nominal semi-finished steel output capacity to 3.2 million mt since it upgraded some of its steelmaking equipment and started running its new DRI module, Zam Zam II, in 2009.
