Iranian steel bar project is ready for operation

Iran National Steel Industrial Group's steel bar unit project, which has an annual production capacity of 550'000 tons, has come on stream. $57 million and Rials 230 billion have been invested in the project. Since the unit is close to the Persian Gulf, the products of the unit can be exported. The unit will be fully operational by June 2005, at which time ingot for the unit will be supplied by domestic sources of the group.
