Iran Alloy Steel reports progress on expansion project

Iranian steelmaker Iran Alloy Steel's expansion project was around 61 percent complete as of the end of the last Iranian year (March 20, 2011 ), according to company managing director Hokmollah Babaie.
 
The project comprises the construction of a third 40-mt electric arc furnace, as well a new ladle furnace and the upgrading of other equipment. When the expanded facilities come on stream, the annual production capacity of Iran Alloy Steel will reach 350,000 mt of crude steel.

Iran Alloy Steel produced about 256,000 mt of crude steel in the last Iranian year.
