Iran Alloy Steel announces progress on expansion project

The production expansion project of Iranian steelmaker Iran Alloy Steel is 71 percent complete and is expected to be fully completed by June 2012.

The project involves the addition of a third electric arc furnace (EAF) as well as some other equipment and will raise the annual output capacity of Iran Alloy Steel to 350,000 mt.
 
Iran Alloy Steel produced about 255,000 mt of crude steel in the last Iranian year (ended March 20), according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
