INOXAP commission largest air separation unit at SAIL’s Bokaro steel mill

Industrial gases manufacturer INOX Air Products Limited (INOXAP) has commissioned its largest-ever air separation unit (ASU) in India at Indian state-run steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited’s Bokaro Steel Plant, according to an INOX statement on Wednesday, January 22.

The ASU with a capacity of 2,150 mt per day has been commissioned at the Bokaro steel mill entailing an investment of $87 million, the company said.

This is also the largest-ever ASU installed at any of SAIL’s facilities across the country.

The air separation unit will generate 2,150 TPD of industrial gases, including 2,000 mt per day of gaseous oxygen, 150 mt per day of liquid oxygen, 1,200 mt per day gaseous nitrogen and 100 mt per day argon gas.

INOXAP already operates an ASU with a capacity of 1,250 mt per day at the Bokaro steel mill.
