India’s state-run miner NMDC Limited achieved iron ore production of 41.22 million mt in the fiscal year 2022-23, a decline of two percent year on year, a company statement said on Tuesday, April 4.

The company said that, despite the decline in production year on year, during the fourth quarter (January-March) of the fiscal year it recorded iron ore production of 14.29 million mt, the highest-ever quarterly output.

It said that NMDC used vision enhancement technology to mitigate foggy weather and employed specialized mine liners to prevent jams. Additionally, it utilized water absorbent polymers to reduce the moisture content in the ores, allowing it to maintain production levels despite the monsoon.
