Government run steel company, Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) will commence billet products within the next one month, company sources said on Thursday, August 2.

They said that the production of billets commencing within the next month is in line with NINL’s announced plans to step up production of value added products and billet production will be followed by production of construction grade thermo-mechanically treated (TMT) bars and wire rods within the current financial year.

NINL during July 2018 achieved the highest ever monthly pig iron production of 76,687 mt and the higher production will enable the steel company to progressively sustain higher production of billets and subsequent conversion into TMT bars, the sources added.
