India’s mineral output increases by 12.3 percent in August

India’s mineral production increased by 12.3 percent in August this year compared to the same month of the previous year, according to provisional data released by the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) on Tuesday, October 24.

Important minerals which showed positive growth in August this year over August 2022 included gold 46.8 percent, phosphorite 40.7 percent, manganese ore 36.9 percent, copper concentrate 18.9 percent, coal 17.8 percent, iron ore 14.9 percent, limestone 13.8 percent, petroleum (crude) 2.1 percent and chromite 1.4 percent.

Mineral output showing negative growth included bauxite -1.5 percent, zinc concentrate -4.1 percent, lignite -5.4 percent and lead concentrate -1.1 percent.
