India’s KIOCL shuts down pellet plant again

Tuesday, 04 July 2023 10:07:51 (GMT+3)   |   Kolkata

India’s state-run iron ore pellet producer KIOCL has once again shut down its 3 million mt plant at Mangalore in the southern state of Karnataka, a company regulatory filing on Tuesday, July 4.

The company said that the plant has been shut down for maintenance but did not give any timeline on the resumption of operations.

The KIOCL plant resumed operations last month after remaining shut for one month and, though no official reason was provided for the previous shutdown, industry insiders claimed it was owing to adverse market conditions.
