Hebei Province’s finished steel export volume up 37.9% in Jan-Apr

In the January-April period this year, China's Hebei Province exported 3.141 million mt of finished steel, up 37.9 percent year on year, according to the figures released by Shijiazhuang Customs in Hebei Province. The export value of the finished steel in question totaled $2.09 billion, up 14.5 percent year on year.

In April alone, the finished steel exports of the province amounted to 944,000 mt, up 80.5 percent year on year and rising by 14.9 percent month on month, with a value of $630 million, up 52.9 percent year on year and up 17.2 percent compared to March.

In the first four months of the current year, total finished steel exports of private sector steel enterprises in the province reached 1.599 million mt, up 85.1 percent year on year and accounting for 50.9 percent of the total finished steel exports of the province.

In January-April, Hebei Province exported 1.082 million mt of finished steel to ASEAN countries, up 93.2 percent year on year. The export value of the finished steel in question totaled $660 million, up 42.1 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the province exported 568,000 of finished steel to South Korea in the given period, with a total export value of $330 million, down 3.1 percent and 13.9 percent respectively, both year on year.

In the first four months this year, finished steel exports from Hebei Province to the European Union (EU) increased by 59.8 percent year on year to 249,000 mt, with a value of $200 million, up 35 percent compared to the same period last year.
