According to the Industry and Information Technology Department of China's Hebei Province, up to the end of September this year backward capacities were eliminated at 163 companies in the province, from a total of 10 sectors. The capacity elimination targets set for the whole of 2010 were all successfully completed by September 30.
Up to September 30, 11.81 million mt of iron ore output capacity, 3.46 million mt of crude steel capacity, 13.14 million mt of cement capacity, 1.26 million mt of coking coal capacity and 30,000 mt of copper smelting capacity were eliminated.
