Guangdong to eliminate over 10 million mt of steel capacity in 2007-2012

Guangdong provincial government recently held a meeting in Guangzhou for the purpose of planning for the next phase of restructuring of the steel industry across the whole province. It was stressed at the meeting that at least 10 million mt of steel production capacities would be closed and eliminated during the "11th Five-Year Plan" period (2007-2012).
