Global stainless steel output down 2.9 percent in Q3 from Q2 level

In the third quarter of this year, world stainless crude steel output decreased by 2.9 percent quarter on quarter to 11.48 million mt, increasing by 12.7 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to the preliminary report released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF). 
 
According to the ISSF data, in the third quarter of this year stainless crude steel production increased by 17.6 percent in China and moved up by 5.8 percent in the Asia region excluding China, while increasing by 17.6 percent in the Americas region, decreasing by 3.1 percent in the Central and Eastern Europe region and rising by 5.3 percent in the Western Europe and Africa region, all compared with the third quarter of 2015.
