Germany’s crude steel output up in January

Provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office show that Germany's crude steel production reached 3.96 million tons in January 2005, up 1.5% compared to the same period of last year. Pig iron production in the same period rose 2.2% to 2.65 million tons. In January, crude steel and pig iron production rose 3.92% and 10.6% respectively when compared with December 2004.
