German wholesale metal prices down four percent in April

As reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in April of the current year the wholesale selling prices of industrial products in Germany were 0.4 percent lower compared to April 2012, the first year-on-year price decrease since November 2009 (-3.2 percent). In February and March this year, the revised year-on-year increases were 1.4 percent and 0.3 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the wholesale price index was 0.2 percent lower in March compared to February.

In April, the wholesale prices of ores, metals and semi-finished metal products in Germany were down four percent as compared to the same month of 2012 and were down 1.1 percent compared to March.
