In October this year, new passenger car registrations in the German market rose slightly by 0.5 percent year on year to 259,600 units and were up 3.8 percent compared to September, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). However, in the first 10 months of this year Germany's new car registrations fell by 1.6 percent year on year, totaling 2.62 million units.
During October this year, a total of 336,900 passenger cars were exported from Germany, decreasing by 6.9 percent compared to October 2011 and down 3.6 percent month on month. In the first 10 months of the year, German passenger car exports amounted to 3.48 million units, falling by two percent compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, 446,100 cars were produced in Germany in October, falling 5.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and down one percent month on month. German car output in the first 10 months of 2012 amounted to 4.6 million units, falling 2.8 percent on year-on-year basis.
In October, new commercial vehicle registrations in Germany fell by 3.8 percent year on year to 27,520 units, while in the first 10 months of this year new commercial vehicle registrations in the country fell by 4.1 percent year on year, totaling 260,064 units.
