Germany's passenger car output up seven percent in May from April

In May this year, new passenger car registrations in the German market totaled 324,000 units, up 11.4 percent month on month and increasing by 13 percent year on year, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the January-May period of this year, Germany's new passenger car registrations increased by five percent year on year, totaling 1,459,400 units.

According to the VDA, in May 482,400 passenger cars rolled off production lines in Germany, which represents a month-on-month increase of seven percent and a year-on-year rise of eight percent. German passenger car output in the January-May period of this year amounted to 2,447,600 units, decreasing by one percent compared to the same period last year.

In May, a total of 369,400 passenger cars were exported from Germany, up by 6.7 percent month on month and increasing by seven percent compared to May last year. In the first five months of the current year, German passenger car exports amounted to 1,878,000 units, remaining stable percent year on year.
