Germany's commercial vehicle output down 57 percent in April

In April this year, commercial vehicle registrations in the German market totaled 28,147 units, down 25 percent month on month and decreasing by 12 percent year on year, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year, Germany's commercial vehicle registrations increased by two percent year on year, totaling 115,953 units.
 
According to the VDA, in April 12,310 commercial vehicles rolled off production lines in Germany, which represents a month-on-month decrease of 61.6 percent and a year-on-year fall of 57 percent. German commercial vehicle output in the January-April period amounted to 89,000 units, declining 19 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
In the given month, a total of 11,330 commercial vehicles were exported from Germany, down by 51.8 percent month on month and decreasing by 48 percent compared to April last year. In the first four months of the current year, German commercial vehicle exports amounted to 68,300 units, declining by 18 percent on year-on-year basis.
