In April this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 1.04 percent month on month to 3.84 million metric tons, rising by 8.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the first four months of this year, crude steel production in Germany increased by 3.4 percent year on year to 14.82 million mt.
Meanwhile, in March Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.39 million metric tons, increasing by six percent year on year, including 2.18 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 3.4 percent year on year, and 1.21 million metric tons of long steel products - increasing by 10.9 percent year on year.
In the January-March period of this year, the country's hot rolled steel output rose 5.1 percent to 9.51 million mt, consisting of 6.23 million metric tons of flat steel products - up five percent year on year, and 3.29 million metric tons of long steel products - rising by 5.1 percent year on year.
