German crude steel output up 2.6 percent in February

In February this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 5.4 percent month on month to 3.45 million metric tons, rising by 2.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the first two months of this year, crude steel production in Germany increased by 1.8 percent year on year to 7.1 million mt.
 
Meanwhile, in January Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.13 million metric tons, increasing by 5.8 percent year on year, including 2.12 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 5.4 percent year on year, and 1.02 million metric tons of long steel products - up 6.7 percent year on year.
