Germany’s crude steel output down 1.6 percent in February from January

In February this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 1.6 percent month on month to nearly 3.51 million metric tons, while falling 1.3 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). Meanwhile, in the first two months, the country's crude steel output decreased by 0.6 percent year on year to 7.2 million metric tons.

On the other hand, in January this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.14 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 4.1 percent, including 2.08 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 3.6 percent, and 1.06 million metric tons of long steel products - up 5.1 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
