Gerdau signs deal to use private longs terminal

Brazilian integrated steelmaker Gerdau has signed a contract with the country’s waterway transportation agency, Antaq, to use a long steel terminal in São Tomé do Paripe, in the city of Salvador, in the state of Bahia.

Gerdau will be allowed to use a 51,844-square-meter area to set up the private terminal, which will be used for stocking and moving cargoes destined to or coming from water-related transports.

Gerdau will use the terminal for 25 years, effective on the signing of the contract on December 7, 2017.
