Heavy truck sales in China increase by 17 percent in January-March 2026

In the January-March period this year, heavy truck sales (including chassis and tractors) in China amounted to 309,000 units, up 17.0 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data issued by cvworld.cn, a Chinese auto industry information service provider.

In March alone, heavy truck sales in China amounted to 130,000 units, up 76.6 percent month on month, while increasing by 17.0 percent year on year, which was the highest level in March over the past five years.

The freight transport industry began to resume work and production in March, bringing improved demand for heavy trucks. Meanwhile, the arrival of the traditional peak season for business has exerted a positive impact on heavy truck sales.
