Gerdau parnters with Forgelube for new foray into Mexico

Monterrey, Mexico-based Forgelube recently signed a contract with Gerdau Special Steel Europa SL, to launch a new line called Forgelube Gerdau, with products aimed at the forging of steel and foundry business of the Group.

The main sectors addressed are those that require large crankshafts, heavy equipment, mining, power generation, cement, shipbuilding, offshore, and iron and steel applications.

The demand for these pieces is currently covered by international firms in Mexico, mainly from the US, Europe, and China, with a trade total of US$150 million in 2013.

According to a company release, Gerdau chose Forgelube for its foray into Mexico for its experience in the industry and position as the only manufacturer in the country that produces from raw materials, which gives access to a large knowledge of the domestic industry.
