Gerdau Ameristeel welcomes Mario Longhi as new CEO

Gerdau Ameristeel has enthusiastically announced that Mario Longhi has assumed his new position as CEO of the company. Mr. Longhi comes into Gerdau Ameristeel with an impressive background extending 23 years with the executive team of Alcoa. Philip E. Casey, who will maintain his position as the Chairman of the Board, commented, “Mario Longhi is a valuable addition to our management team and brings tremendous depth of international experience, proven leadership skills and dedication to the principles of continuous improvement.” Gerdau Ameristeel is recognized as the second largest minimill steel producer in North America.
