French crude steel output down 1.7 percent in January-May

In the first five months of this year, French crude steel output decreased by 1.7 percent year on year to 12.47 million mt, according to the latest data released by the French Steel Federation (FFA).
 
Meanwhile, in May this year, French crude steel production amounted to 1.45 million mt, up by 5.9 percent year on year. In the same month, crude steel production in France using EAFs rose by 5.5 percent year on year to 464,000 mt, while crude steel production using BFs totaled 981,000 mt, increasing by 5.8 percent year on year.
