Freight volumes on China’s waterways up 7.8 percent in January-May

In the January-May period this year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s waterways (rivers, lakes, seas) amounted to 2.855 billion mt, increasing by 7.8 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on the country’s waterways totaled 4.10161 trillion mt-km, rising by 6.6 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT).
