France’s auto industry orders up 8.9 percent in Dec over Nov

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in December 2011 France's new industrial orders received, excepting heavy tranport vehicles, remained almost stable falling by just 0.1 percent month on month. In November, a revised month-on-month increase of 1.1 percent was registered.
 
Meanwhile, in December, export orders remained nearly unchanged as compared to the previous month, up 2.5 percent.
 
In December, industrial orders in the domestic metallurgical industry fell by 3.5 percent as compared to the previous month, while industrial orders in the manufacture of metal products except machinery increased by 1.7 percent as compared to November. In December, industrial orders in France's automotive industry rose by 8.9 percent as compared to the previous month, after a month-on-month decrease of 1.6 percent recorded in November.
