French metal industry orders down 5.3% in Feb from Jan

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in February this year France's new industrial orders received, excepting heavy tranport vehicles, remained almost stable with a slight increase of 0.1 percent month on month. In January, a revised month-on-month increase of 0.8 percent was registered.

Meanwhile, in February, export orders decreased by 1.5 percent as compared to the previous month.

In February, industrial orders in the domestic metallurgical industry fell by 5.3 percent as compared to the previous month, while industrial orders in the manufacture of metal products except machinery increased by 1.9 percent as compared to January. In February, industrial orders in France's automotive industry fell by 3.5 percent as compared to the previous month, after a month-on-month increase of one percent recorded in January.
