On November 28, a major fire broke out in the flat rolled workshop № 5 of the Russian Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK). As a result of the fire, the roof and other metal constructions had collapsed, killing two workers, MMK's release said. The mill's deputy director Mr. Gennady Senichev stated that MMK have come out with a plan to minimize the economic effects of the fire. Currently the plant has enough semi-finished products to continue its production till the all consequences of the fire are liquidated. The work to remove the debris, the area of which totals 3,000 square meters, is still continuing at MMK.
