Feralpi’s Presider inaugurates new plant in Nave, Brescia

Tuesday, 13 June 2023 12:23:43 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

The rebar processor Presider, part of Italian Feralpi Group has inaugurated a new plant in Nave (Brescia) last Saturday, June 10. The work has required almost two years and €7 million of investment, for a complete revamping of the production site - with a total area of about 26,000 m2, 14,000 of which are roofed - and new machinery installed for shaping and assembling steel structures.

The new set-up will allow production of more than 35,000 mt per year, with a goal later to double that, thanks in part to NRRP [Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan]. This is Presider’s fourth site, the others are located in Borgaro Torinese (Turin), Pomezia (Rome) and Saint-Soupplets (Paris).

"Presider represents a strategic link within the construction supply chain," commented Maurizio Fusato, CEO of the company. "Especially in these years when in Italy, as well as in Europe, infrastructure works are called to evolve in terms of durability, quality, safety and, of course, sustainability."

In the direction of this necessary qualitative leap, in fact, the process of quantifying the emissions (direct and indirect) of Presider products, through the Carbon Footprint, has been completed, with the aim of conducting new actions meant to further reduce the impact. The investments also include a photovoltaic park, covering more than 6,000 m2 and capable of generating more than 1,200 MWh of renewable electricity, an amount greater than the plant’s own needs. The remaining energy will be given to Feralpi, which includes increasing use of self-generated green energy as part of its decarbonization strategy.
