Evraz reports third quarter operational results
Russias Evraz Group, a leading vertically integrated steel
production and mining businesses, announced today (October 7) its third quarter operational results.
The third quarter saw the company produce 3.205 million metric tons (mmt) of crude steel. Year-to-date
production was 10.213 mmt, a 0.1 percent year-on-year decline.
Rolled steel
production for the third quarter amounted to 2.913 mmt. Year-to date
production was 9.219 mmt, a 0.6 percent year-on-year gain.
Evraz produced 2.546 mmt of
pig iron during the third quarter. Year-to-date
production was 8.498 mmt, down 0.7 percent year on year.
In terms of
iron ore, the company produced 820000 metric tons of concentrate during the third quarter, bringing year-to-date
production to 2.111 mmt, a 17 percent gain year on year. Third-quarter pellet
production of 1.013 mmt helped year-to-date
production shoot up near 102 percent to 3.770 mmt. The group also produced 2.1 mmt of sinter during the third quarter, taking year-to-date
production to 6.733 mmt, an almost 21 percent gain year on year.
As for
coking coal, Evraz produced 191000 metric tons during the third quarter, bringing year-to-date
production to 347000 tons.
