In September this year, new commercial vehicle registrations increased by 13.2 percent year on year in the
European Union, totaling 181,436 units, registering year-on-year growth for the 13th consecutive month, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). The month counted on average the same number of working days across the region compared to the same month of the previous year. Looking at the major markets,
Italy (+33 percent),
Spain (+20.2 percent),
France (+11.9 percent), the
UK (+10.6 percent) and
Germany (+7.9 percent) posted increases on year-on-year basis.
In the first nine months of the current year, demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU was up 9.6 percent year on year, with 1,352,410 new registrations.
Spain (+32.4 percent),
Italy (+16.9 percent), the
UK (+12.4 percent),
Germany (+7.5 percent) and
France (+0.4 percent) recorded increases in vehicle registrations compared to the same period last year.
