In June this year, new commercial vehicle registrations grew by 10.3 percent year on year in the European Union, totaling 166,107 units, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). The month counted on average the same number of working days across the region compared to the same month of the previous year. Looking at the major markets, the UK (+25.5 percent), Spain (+18.9 percent), Italy (+8.6 percent), Germany (+6.5 percent) and France (+3.8 percent) posted increases on year-on-year basis.
In the first half of the current year, demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU was up 9.3 percent year on year, with 912,722 new registrations. Spain (+38.0 percent), Italy (+13.6 percent), the UK (+11.1 percent), Germany (+8.3 percent) and France (+0.4 percent) recorded increases in vehicle registrations compared to the same period last year on year-on-year basis.
