According to a statement released on June 25 by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, the new industrial orders index in the European Union member states (EU-27) increased by 0.2 percent month on month in April, after a revised month-on-month increase of 7.1 percent recorded in March. The year-on-year increase in April was recorded at 21.8 percent in the region.
On the other hand, in April new industrial orders in the EU-27, excluding ships, railway and aerospace equipment for which changes tend to be more volatile, rose by 0.9 percent month on month and was up 23 percent year on year.
