Ethiopian Sheba Steel to increase steel capacity

Pakistani-owned Ethiopian Sheba Steel Mills Plc has announced that it is planning to increase its annual steel production capacity from the current 10,000 tons to 20,000 tons by January 2007. The company also plans to increase its production capacity to 50,000 tons annually by mid 2008. Future expansion plans include the construction of a steel complex to produce under the one roof all kinds of steel goods, among which will be iron bars, angles, channels, flat bars, corrugated sheets, nails and other related steel products.
