ESTAR’s GMZ produces 14th million mt of steel

Guryevsk Metallurgical Works (GMZ), a subsidiary of Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding (ESTAR), has announced that its section rolling shop has produced its 14th million mt of steel products. The plant had reached 13 million mt in 2004.
 
In the first quarter of the current year, GMZ produced 39,031 mt of crude steel in open hearth furnaces - up 33 percent, 54,600 mt of rolled steel products - up 256 percent, and 23,500 mt of steel grinding balls -  up 122 percent, all compared to the same period last year.
