The Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding (ESTAR) is planning to invest Ruble 16 million ($680,446) in the modernization of an open hearth furnace (OHF) at its subsidiary Guryevsk Metallurgical Works (GMZ).

The modernization of the OHF in question will increase its production capacity by 10 percent to 110,000 mt of crude steel per year and thereby reduce the volume of billets supplied to the mill for further re-rolling.
