Erdemir aims to increase its annual tinplate output to 400’000 tons

Erdemir has recently announced its H1 net profit of 2003 as 153 million $, that corresponds to a % 383 increase, compared with the same period last year. Now, the integrated mill is planning to increase its tinplate output. Previously, Erdemir has increased its tinplate production after installation of 250'000 tons per year capacity line and for year 2003, the mill is expecting to produce nearly 200'000 tons tinplate. In the first six months of 2003, the production has risen 35 %, compared to the same period last year. And now, Erdemir is planning to establish a new plate mill. The new mill will be an imported second-hand mill and Erdemir will execute a modernization process by the end of this year, which will enable the mill to increase its annual tinplate production to 400'000 tons by raising it around 150'000 tons. The project will be financed by the credits that will be supplied by the equity of Erdemir and the Technology Supplying Firm.
