Erdemir Service Center meeting theme: “Face to face with Customers”
Several top executives and administrative board members of ESSC and Eregli Demir (EDCF) Celik Fabrikalari were present at the meeting held on the 22nd of October in Gebze / Kocaeli where the ESSC is located. The meeting started with the speech of ESSC General Manager Mr. Emin Parildar and ESSC Chairman Mr. Ahmet Erkan.
Main industry and subcontractor firms particularly from
automotive and
white goods sectors participated to the meeting.
During the meeting, ESSC General Manager Mr. Emin Parildar stated that ESSC will receive ISO 9001-2000 certificate within November 2003. This subject was widely appreciated especially among customers who produce export material, particularly in the
automotive industry.
Following similar application by
Erdemir Iron and Steel Works , from now on
Erdemir Service Center will also be supplying material on six month deferred payment term to companies that export their imported material after further processing, without charging them any financing cost. This will be a great support the companies exporting their final products .
ESSC announced a 22'000 tons of
production in its first operation year of 2002. Furthermore, the company increased its
production to 39'000 tons during the first nine months of 2003. ESSC aims to reach 60'000 tons of
production by the end of the year.
A new service center is scheduled to be built in SEKA, Izmit, in line with the positive results obtained from ESSC and the increasing demand. The new steel service center will also apply slitting facilitiesd of HR material and blanking process with an annual
production capacity of 1 million tons. The new steel service center will have an advantage of access by sea, railway and land.
According to an announcement made during the meeting,
Erdemir Iron and Steel Works has acquired a
plate rolling line which will start operations towards the end of 2004. After the
production is initiated at the new line, the total capacity will increase to 4.5 million tons.
In the framework of the letter of intent signed with Arcelor,
Erdemir Iron and Steel Works plans to construct two
tinplate service centers in
Iran and
Egypt.
In addition, projects such as
Erdemir Iron and Steel Works running fixed price long term contracts with one or two years duration for main industry companies, studies on converting Isdemir to flat
production, the Direct Borrowing System initiated with TEB and technical training by ESSC are still ongoing.
