Echeng Steel to supply plate for ‘Marine Oil 981’ oil rig

Hubei-based Chinese steel producer Echeng Iron and Steel (Echeng Steel), a subsidiary of major Chinese steel producer WISCO, is to supply steel plate for the sixth generation ‘Marine Oil 981" oil rig in the South China Sea, according to local newspaper Hubei Daily. The supply constitutes two thirds of the overall supply of 30,000 mt of steel products needed for the oil rig.
 
In line with the special requirements of the oil rig, Echeng Steel has developed DH36 grade steel plate with thickness of 12-60 mm.
