Duferco to swap factories with Arcelor

Duferco has agreed in principle to swap Duferdofin Spa's three factories San Zeno, Vobarno and Messina with Arcelor's hot dipped galvanised and electro galvanised lines in France and Belgium. Arcelor needed to get rid of some HDG capacity as per the anti-competiton requirements mandated by the EU while Duferco was not happy with the beam business it was running. This can be seen as another sign of Duferco-Arcelor close cooperation in many areas. Duferdofin's San Zeno factory produces blooms, Vobarno factory produces beams, IPE, HEA, HEB and Messina factory produces beams.
