Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN), through its mining arm CSN Mineracao, has resumed iron ore exports at its terminal at the Itaguai port following an accident in mid-April, a media report from Reuters said on Wednesday.

CSN used the Sudeste Port as an alternative to export iron ore, but the terminal at the Itaguai port is now 100 percent operational.

“Operations resumed 15 days ago and we’re now operating regularly,” a source told Reuters.
CSN Mineracao is Brazil’s second largest iron ore exporter, just behind Vale.

A source said CSN’s insurance covered the costs of using the Sudeste Port and repairing the damaged terminal.
