Correction: BRC Arabia starts construction of new rebar and steel wire capacity in Dubai

Dubai-based steelmaker BRC Arabia has started construction of the first phase of its rebar and steel wire plant with an annual production capacity of 150,000 metric tons in Dubai with an investment of $100 million, ArabSteel has reported.
 
After the completion of the second phase, the current annual capacity of BRC Arabia is expected to reach approximately 225,000-300,000 metric tons.
 
BRC Arabia owns another similar plant in Sharjah, UAE which produces iron and steel products with an annual capacity of 75,000 metric tons.
 
The UAE-based Kanoo Group owns 51 percent of BRC Arabia, while South Africa's Murray & Roberts holds control of the remaining 49 percent.
