Construction work on the Dongda Coal Mine Project, owned by Qindong Energy Co., a subsidiary of Shanxi Province-based Shanxi Jincheng Anthracite Coal Mining Group, commenced on September 9, as announced by Shanxi Jincheng Anthracite Coal Mining Group. The project will have an annual coal capacity of 5.0 million mt, while the license for the project was the first mining project license issued by Shanxi Province in 13 years following an industry reshuffle aimed at eliminating outdated coal production capacity. The overall investment in the project will amount to RMB 6.3 billion ($0.92 billion).
